Adenike Abisola Adefila — professionally known as Chef Denike — is the co-founder and Head Chef of The Burgundy. A trained industrial chemist turned culinary leader, she brings a scientist's precision and an artist's intuition to every plate that leaves the kitchen.

With over a decade of international experience spanning Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Brazil, and Nigeria, Chef Denike has shaped The Burgundy's identity from its very first pop-up in 2021 to the acclaimed fine dining destination it is today. She has designed and executed all 17 seasonal menus, each one a narrative journey through Africa's culinary landscape.

In 2024, she was honoured as the UN Gastronomy Tourism Ambassador — the only Nigerian chef invited to the inaugural UN Tourism Regional Forum on Gastronomy for Africa. In 2025, she was named a top-three finalist for the 50 Best Restaurants Scholarship and an IGCAT Expert, while pursuing advanced studies at the Basque Culinary Centre in Spain.

Beyond the kitchen, Chef Denike is a passionate educator and mentor at Red Dish Chronicles culinary school, empowering the next generation of African chefs. Her mission is singular: to ensure African gastronomy claims its rightful place on the world stage.
